Track & Field: Four Titans Qualify for Nationals

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - The NCAA Division III Men's and Women's Track and Field Committee announced the student-athletes invited to participate in the 2014 NCAA Division III Men's and Women's Outdoor Track and Field Championships. Four members of the Westminster women's outdoor track & field teams have qualified. Senior Haley Gabor (New Kensington, Pa. / Ford City) qualified in the 400, while sophomore Marissa Kalsey (Waynesburg, Pa. / Waynesburg), freshman Brooke Mancuso (Wexford, Pa. / North Allegheny), and freshman Cassidy Shepherd (Greensburg, Pa. / Salem) have all qualified in the pole vault.

Gabor, who is going to Nationals for the first time of her career, is seeded 15th with a school-record time of 56.35. Gabor is the first Titan in school history (male or female) to qualify in the 400.

Kalsey is third with a school-record mark of 13-01.75 (4.01m), followed by Mancuso who is fourth (13-00.25 (3.97m)) and Shepherd who is fifth (12-07.50 (3.85m)). All three earned the distinction of All-American at the 2014 NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships. Kalsey is striving for her fourth career All-American honor.

The event will be held Thursday-Saturday, May 22-24, at Ohio Wesleyan University in Delaware, Ohio.

For each women's individual event contested, including the heptathlon, the top 22 declared student-athletes were accepted into the competition.
