Men s Cross Country: Titans Compete at Bethany Invitational

BETHANY, W. Va. - The Westminster men's cross country team placed 10th at the Bethany Invitational on Saturday. The Titans finished with a team score of 267.

A total of 156 runners competed from 16 schools.

Sophomore John-Scott Somora (Grove City, PA / Grove City) led the Titans by finishing 29th with a time of 28:43. Classmate Matt Slagle (Bruin, PA / Karns City) was right behind at 28:51.

Junior Sawyer Palonder from Saint Vincent was the medalist with a time of 26:51, while the Bearcats won the event with a score of 46.

Junior Chase Whelan (Hermitage, PA) (30:07), freshman Trevor Arrigoni (Canonsburg, PA) (30:28), sophomore Neil Christopher (Pittsburgh, PA / Brentwood) (30:46), freshman David Waldschmidt (New Castle, PA) (30:52), and freshman Josh McFall (New Castle, PA) (30:58) rounded out the Titan finishers.

Westminster will next compete at the Dickinson College Long/Short Meet in Newville, Pa. next Saturday.
