Men s Cross Country: Titans Place Sixth at PAC Championship

BETHANY, W.Va. - The Westminster College men's cross country team finished sixth with 154 points at the 2014 Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Championship on Saturday. The league's 57th annual cross country championship was hosted by Bethany College.

Westminster sophomore Matt Slagle (Bruin, PA / Karns City) crossed the finish line first for the Titans at 29:04.7. Freshman Trevor Arrigoni (Delmont, PA) (29:40.3), freshman David Waldschmidt (New Castle, PA) (29:51.4), sophomore John-Scott Somora (Grove City, PA / Grove City) (30:04.8), and junior Chase Whelan (Hermitage, PA) (31:00.5) rounded out the top-5 Titan finishers.

Saint Vincent College totaled 31 team points for first place. Grove City College was second (40 pts.), Waynesburg University third (85), Thiel College fourth (140) and Thomas More College fifth (149). Geneva College was seventh (175) and host Bethany College eighth (211). Washington & Jefferson College competed in the event as individuals only.

Westminster will next compete at the NCAA Mid-East Regional in Bethlehem, Pa. on Saturday, Nov. 15.
